Association of Youth Ministry Educators
A Community of Christ-Centered Scholars
The Association of Youth Ministry Educators (AYME) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization of Christian youth ministry educators and thought leaders committed to developing the next generation of youth ministers. We gather in order to advance the field of youth ministry education through cooperative networking, scholarly contributions, and critical engagement with the varied practices of youth ministry and other disciplines around the globe.
Membership is open to all those involved in youth ministry education in academic and non-traditional educational settings as well as graduate students. Our membership presently represents professors from over 60 colleges, universities and theological seminaries, as well as many executive leaders from national youth ministry organizations, denominations, and publishing companies.
Beyond the resource of this website, there are two primary ways that AYME is a resource for those engaged in youth ministry education. First, the Journal of Youth Ministry, published twice a year, focuses on ideas and research conducted by youth ministry educators and researchers. Second, since 1994, youth ministry education leaders have gathered from across North America for our annual conference which provides the opportunity to network with colleagues, present research, and engage in dialogue around the issues significant to youth ministry education.
The 24th Annual Conference will be October 28-30, 2017 in Dallas, Texas where we will be engaging the theme of the future of youth ministry. We hope you will take time to explore AYME on this website and consider joining us in Dallas!
